“Are You Being Weighed Down by Rocks?”

The other day I was at the hospital waiting for the Doctor to come out and speak to me after he was performing surgery on someone very close to me.  You know how we all get with that anticipation of waiting and wondering we just can’t sit still.  We want everything to happen quick and in our time. Well I began pacing the halls until I came to a huge window.  I looked down at the cars passing by, and people walking in and out of the hospital and oddly enough my attention was drawn to the bushes below that were starting to bloom for the spring season and the rocky soil they were growing in.   I thought that’s the way I feel today, like I was standing in that very rocky soil of life that we always tend to find ourselves in.  As I stood there I felt like my legs were too heavy to even move…  Like the rocks down below that were weighing down the bushes and their roots.  For me this week I seem to get tired so easily.  I’m finding myself impatient, short with others, and frustrated with life and when things don’t happen in “my” time I just get annoyed and impatient.  Have you ever been there?  Do you know what I’m talking about?

Although I’m feeling so weighed down, I think of what Jesus did for me when he died and rose again, and suddenly I felt so connected knowing Jesus is my(your) source for living.  I think of the scripture John15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

So Jesus enables me(us) to bloom with a smile and helps me(us) find ways to see a positive outcome even through this negative situation I’m facing right now.  If I don’t think positive and trust God completely, then fear, and anxiety can sneak in and overwhelm me, IF I (we) let it.

We all have a choice on how we encounter every circumstance that arises.  How about you; how do you react when you face trials and tribulations?  Do you give up, do you stress out, do you get angry, or do you turn to God and seek His word?  Think of every awful thing that happened in your life.  Every single trial was painful, and maybe you are still not over it.  Trials are something we all will face, so we need to learn to get through them by keeping the faith, seeking His word and most importantly praying.  I know it’s easier said than done.

What we need to do whether your a caregiver, nurse, factory worker, etc is to pray your way through every trial, YES it will be hard, but don’t stop, keep praying.  Pray for God’s wisdom, for strength, for healing, and for love. Get into His word.   Just remember no matter what hardships you are facing, remember that God loves you, and each one of us can make it through each one of our trials, we just need to be strong.  For all At -Home Quality Care caregivers reading this please pick up the phone and call me(Dana) I would be happy to listen to you vent, or blow off some steam.

What a joy it is to be assured that God’s love is there for me as well as you.  We just have to keep ourselves rooted in Christ and watered by His word so it will strengthen us when we have days that we feel overwhelmed with life, our jobs, even with our friends and family!

Don’t forget with God, all things are possible.
